Privacy Policy

The short version

SnipDot does not collect, upload or share any of your data. It has no networking capability — the app's sandbox entitlements contain no network permission whatsoever. Anyone can verify this:

Those two entries are the entire list. There is no com.apple.security.network.client or network.server.

We collect nothing

There are no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers. We don't know who you are, and we don't know how many people use SnipDot.

Where your screenshots go

Captures exist in exactly three places, all on your own device:

• Memory — while you're capturing and annotating
• Your clipboard — when you press ⌘C
• A file you chose — when you press ⌘S and pick a location in the save panel

SnipDot never saves a screenshot automatically. No ⌘S, no file.

Permissions

• Screen Recording — required to capture screen content. This is the only way a screenshot tool can work. The image data never leaves your Mac.
• File access — limited to locations you actively pick in the save panel. SnipDot cannot reach files you haven't pointed it at.
• Notifications (optional) — only if you enable the capture confirmation. Can be turned off at any time.

Text recognition

Extracting text with ⌘E uses Apple's built-in Vision framework, which runs entirely offline on your Mac. No image or text is sent to any server.

Third parties

SnipDot contains no third-party SDKs, analytics tools or dependencies.

Children

SnipDot collects no user data at all, and therefore collects nothing from children either.

Changes

Any change to this policy will be noted in the app's release notes and reflected in the date above. Because SnipDot is built on the premise of having no network access, any change involving data transmission would require requesting new sandbox entitlements — visible to anyone inspecting the app.
